Nairobi National Park is the most accessible of all Kenyan wildlife parks, being only 8km from the city Centre. Its incongruous sub-urban location makes it virtually unique in Africa, (if not in the world), and adds an intriguing twist to the usual safari experience, pitting the plentiful wildlife against a backdrop of looming sky-scrapers, speeding vehicles and planes coming into land. Gazelles, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, ostriches, buffalos, lions, cheetahs and leopard are sighted here. The landscape is a mixture of savanna and swampland, and it is home to the highest concentration of black rhinos in the world. Over 550 bird spices have been recorded!
